The best of Scandinavia!
An unique possibility to see and enjoy three big cities, three wonderful countries, all in one week.
Arrive at Copenhagen Airport and Captain Damion will meet you there.
He will take you safely to the dock downtown, where M.Y. Daydream and the rest of the crew are awaiting. A glass of champagne, given by the owner and your holiday has started.
The very first point of interest is close by. You will see the marvellous Opera House from the yacht and The Amalienborg Palace is right behind you. The Palace is the main residence of Her Majesty the Queen and when the flag is raised, it signals that the Queen is present.
It’s time to explore!
Copenhagen has attractions and sights to suit every taste and interest – and most of them are within walking distance. The three most famous attractions in the city are most likely the more than 100-year old amusement park Tivoli Gardens, the statue of The Little Mermaid, and the freetown of Christiania. But Copenhagen has a lot more to offer. With a history that dates back to 1043 the city is full of historic landmarks, significant buildings and interesting sights and museums. Be sure to visit Amalienborg Palace – home to the royal family – and walk down the shopping street Strøget.
Wake up early. Wave good bye to Copenhagen and The statue of The Little Mermaid and cruise south. We suggest a daytrip to the stunning Møns Klit, a four hours trip away.
While you were asleep, Daydream was headed north.
When you wake up, you are located in Rungstedlund, Karen Blixen’s birthplace.
Have breakfast onboard before you go and visit The Karen Blixen Museum.
Have lunch onboard, while you cruise slowly towards Gilleleje.
Gilleleje is the northernmost point on the island of Sjælland. The city has tried to preserve a large part of the original idyllic little streets and straw covered old houses. Gilleleje is a lively tourist-, commercial- and fishing town with Sjælland’s largest fishing port as its natural center.
Go for a walk and feel the fresh air on one of the beautiful beaches.
Have dinner onboard and enjoy a midnight drink on top deck. Remember, it hardly never gets dark.
Wake up in wonderful Skagen.
The captain and his crew have taken you safely to The Top of Denmark where the two seas Skagerrak and Kattegat meet in the middle of the night. Have breakfast onboard, and get ready for a day in the painters’ footsteps!
From the late 1870s and up until the turn of the century, Skagen was an international meeting place for young artists. They were all inspired by naturalism and the “plein air painting”. It was called plein air painting (from the French en plein air, meaning in the open air), because the artists were sitting out in the open whilst painting. In this way they were able to capture the spectacular light and the colors directly onto the canvas.
During the course of the 1880s, Skagen was transformed into an artists’ colony with room for both work and play. The artists’ favorite scene was the fishermen working on the beaches, the small fishermen’s cottages, the landscape and the artists’ social life. Even in their own time, the Skagen painters achieved international fame at major exhibitions abroad.
Skagen has a lot more to offer. You should definitively go the “The Old Skagen” and have a beer and a aquavit on one of the coziest taverns. Feel the atmosphere from the warm and lovely Danes.
Go to the beach, feel the warmest sand and enjoy the light and the clouds.
Leave Skagen in the afternoon and set heading off to Sweden. In less than four hours you will see and find a nice birth in Gothenburg. Spend the eveing in the city! Go dancing on «Nefertiti», or enjoy «Yaki-Da», «The Rover» is a favourite among beer- and whiskeylovers and «Pustervik» may offer live music. Have fun in Gothenburg!
Wake up in Gothenburg and spend the day here.
If you prefer shopping, this is it. In Gothenburg it’s easy to make shopping as an exciting experience. Whether you are looking for exclusive fashion by locals or international designers, vintage and secondhand findings or want to update your wardrobe in the big chain-stores, you will find IT!
Would you rather have some speed and excitement, you should chose Liseberg.
Liseberg is the largest Amusement Park in Scandinavia and has more than three million visitors each year.
If you do not want to have lunch onboard today, we highly recommend «Restaurant Sjömagasinet». The restaurant has a wonderful location (close to the water) and has One Star in The Guide Michelin.
Drop the anchor between the two islands Martransön and Koön, and enjoy the scenery.
Marstrand is extremely popular in the summertime and is one of Sweden’s foremost yachting cities. Several both national and international championships for yachting find place here, and the famous «Stena Match Cup Sweden” will be arranged in the period of June 30th – July 5th in 2014.
Explore the Marstrand Island this morning. Visit the Carlstens Fortress from 1658 which you will find on the island’s highest peak. Go for a walk around the island, it’s about 5 kilometers, and will take you about an hour. Lovely spots to see and visit on your way and the funniest thing: there are no cars!
In the afternoon, you have to leave.
You will now cruise slowly along the beautiful Swedish archipelago for about six hours, and you might get some spectacular photoshoots.
The costline is stunning.
Koster consists of two major islands, North and South Koster, in addition to several smaller uninhabited islets and reefs. The Islands have a resident population of about 300 people only, but they are popular vacation spots, so the number of residents increased to tenfold in the summertime. Both islands are wonderfully walkable, no cars!
Go for a swim and feel the silence and fresh air!
You are now leaving Sweden and in short time you will cross the Norwegian boarder.
The landscape is simular in this part of the country, wonderful archipelago, islets and reefs.
You will now cruise this fjord for approxemately six hours and in the afternoon you will see Oslo.
Oslo, the capitol of Norway, is «at the port» and the densest part of the city is in a “pot” surrounded by green hills.
Enjoy Oslo by night! See the hectic life at Aker Brygge from the top deck at the yacht or participate yourself!
Wake up and have your very last breakfast onboard. We are sorry to say, but it’s time to leave.
Captain Damion and his crew have enjoyed having you onboard, and will now take you to the airport Gardermoen.
Have a safe flight home – hope you enjoyed!
